Custom Status

Let people know what you are up to. Set a status that shows up next to your name across CloakShell and stays in sync across your sessions.

What's included:

• Add a short status with an optional emoji, including animated emoji for CloakShell+ members.
• Have your status clear itself automatically after a time you pick, from 30 minutes up to a full day, or choose a custom time.
• Control how you appear to others with Active, Away, and Hidden.
• See other members' statuses on their profile, updated live.

Smoother Photos and Videos

Share photos and videos without converting them first.

What's included:

• Upload photos in modern formats like HEIC and AVIF, the kinds newer phones and cameras save by default.
• Videos are prepared automatically for smooth, reliable playback on any device.
• Clearer messages when a file cannot be used, so you know what to do next.

Account and Security

Manage your account and security settings right from Settings.

What's included:

• Change your password or email address.
• Turn on two-factor authentication for an extra layer of security.
• Download a copy of your data whenever you want it.
• Delete your account, with a clear confirmation step so it never happens by accident.

Better Notifications

Message notifications are tidier and more useful.

What's included:

• Mark a message as read right from the notification, without opening CloakShell.
• Read something on one device and its notification clears on your others automatically.

Highlighted Forum Replies

CloakShell+ members can surface the best answer in a discussion.

What's included:

• Post authors and moderators can highlight a reply so it stands out in the thread.
• Highlighted replies update live for everyone viewing the discussion.

Leaving Group Chats

Leaving a group message is now smooth and predictable.

What's included:

• Group owners can leave, and ownership passes automatically to the longest-standing member.
• When the last person leaves, the group closes itself out cleanly.

Manage Your Subscription

Manage your CloakShell+ plan right from Settings whenever you need to make a change.

Public Forums on the Web

Public forum discussions are now easier to find and share.

What's included:

• Public posts and replies open on the web and can be linked to or found through search engines.
• New About and comparison pages explain what makes CloakShell different.

On the Horizon: Mobile Apps
